The operation common denominator of the mission's satellite deployment is stressed. Also included are significant secondary achievements such as EVA's (spacewalks), the first female astronaut, the first night launch and landing and some of the more important on board experiments.

SATELLITE REPAIRS
The August 1985 launch of the space shuttle Discovery was planned and executed in only four months. The primary objectives of this mission were the retrieval of an inoperative Syncom satellite, the repair of the satellite, and its subsequent return to its propoer orbit.
