The Avengers, the stunning sexy and delightfully devious British TV espionage classic is back! Meet the indomitable John Steed and his unforgettable ally, the dazzling Mrs. Emma Peel. Share the adventures that introduced Mrs. Peel to the world and established a Peel/Steed partnership so charged with provocatively restrained amorous energy that censors would eventually ban at least one episode for the American airwaves.

The Avengers '65 DVD Set 1 features the first six Emma Peel/John Steed adventures for 1965 - the year Mrs. Emma Peel debuted on The Avengers - including the first episode ever aired on American television, fan favorite 'The Cybernauts'.

Disc 1:
The Town Of No Return
When four special agents disappear in quaint Bazeley-by-the-Sea, THE AVENGERS uncover aconspiracy of masquerading merchants determined to stage a hostile takeover... of all Britain.
Town was actually filmed twice - once with Elisabeth Sherpherd as Steed's partner. Shepherd was replaced by Diana Rigg.

The Gravediggers
When a fault develops in the nation's radar system, a litlle digging leads Emma and Steed straight to the graveyard, where they overturn a plot to weaken Britain's defense.
Classic "Perils of Emma": Mrs. Peel is tied - vertically - to a miniature railroad track from which she must be rescued by the dashing John Steed.

The Cybernauts
Cybernetic assasins are the key to a madman's plans to engineer an automated empire - with him at the controls. In this, the first episode of THE AVENGERS ever shown on American television, Emma and Steed pit mettle against metal and manufacture an end to the mechanical system.

Disc 2:

Death At Bargain Prices
A dead colleague leaves THE AVENGERS but one clue to his fate - a department store receipt with a Sunday date. Emma goes undercover in women's lingerie while Steed exposes "Pinter's Secret": The entire stock is an atomic bomb set for wholesale carnage if Britain won't meet the dealer's price.

Castle De'ath
Past and present collide Castle De'ath, where methods of modern mayhem are camouflaged within a medival chamber of horrors. Join the thoroughly mod Emma Peel and utterly timeless John "McSteed" as they fight dirk and claymore against the ancient enemies of mankind - ruthless entrepreneurs.

The Master Minds
When trusted public servants run muderously amok, Steed and Emma go undercover at a school for intellectuals and Emma's peerless intellect helps Steed pass the IQ tests. Braving mass hypnosis and killer essay questions, THE AVENGERS muster the means to outmaneuver the Master Minds.
